Udaipur and Weddings, the Perfect Combination!

Rajasthan has always been my favourite place. Especially when I live right next to it, that is, in Delhi. The perks of living in Delhi is, that every beautiful place where one would want to unwind himself or herself for a few days, is just nearby. Other few examples of nearby holiday destinations are Nainital, Shimla, Kufri etc. But my all time favourite was Rajasthan, always.

All the cities in Rajasthan are worth spending a lot of time. But my heart seems to sink towards a bit more Udaipur. It is a magnificent city. I was lucky enough to visit the city one more time lately. This time it was for my cousin’s wedding. I was so glad that she chose to do a destination wedding, that too, nowhere else than in Udaipur. I was staying at the same where the wedding was supposed to take place. It was the Ananta Resort. As I had reached the resort and got myself checked in, I was welcomed very well and shown my way to my gorgeous room. I loved every bit of my stay. It was undoubtedly one of the best resorts in Udaipur.

My room and everything was perfect without a doubt. But what more perfect was, the way the staff handled the whole wedding. It was flawless. I was in awe with the way everything worked out. We as the family members didn’t have to take any kind of pain regarding any arrangement. I, myself, am going to keep it in mind as one of the finest resorts in Udaipur for weddings.

Blissful Udaipur!

I am extremely grateful to my profession, Kathak artist, for making me perform all around the globe and taking me to all the beautiful places. One such place is Rajasthan. The moment I think of Rajasthan, I see a lot of colours. The state is pretty high on the vibe of culture, palaces, forts, and lakes.

One such concert tour took me to one of the prettiest cities of Rajasthan, Udaipur. I had always heard of it, but had never been to the city earlier. My dance took me to Udaipur. The whole team was of 10 people. We all were staying at the Ananta Hotel. It is a beautiful hotel. I was anyway happy to be in Udaipur. I got happier about the accommodation. It is a magnificent property. And Udaipur, anyway known as the “city of lakes”, it seems to be a great hotel in Udaipur near Lake Pichola. It makes it near one of the most touristy places in Udaipur.

I was done with the concert on the first day of my visit. I had the next day, all by myself. I did my best to explore the city in the best way possible. Lake Pichola looked even prettier at night, with all the properties well lit up, which nest on the boundaries of this huge lake. The City Palace is another beautiful thing to gorge on, which right in the banks of the lake Pichola.

On the final day, as I was leaving the hotel, I found out that the hotel takes care of wedding arrangements too. Immediately I started wishing if I could ever get married at this beautiful place, as it seemed to be a perfect wedding venue in Udaipur.

A Perfect Holiday at the Perfect Destination, Udaipur!

new-wedding
I find myself extremely lucky to be living in Delhi. It has a lot of perks. Definitely, because it is the capital. But the other thing is, that a lot of holiday destinations in India, are quite near to Delhi. Some places are reachable by a long drive, and for some, short journeys by trains or flight workout just perfect.

Of all the beautiful places being around the corner, I was lucky to explore Udaipur this time. It was a holiday trip with two of my cousins. It was my idea to get away from Delhi for a few days. Going to Udaipur seemed to me the best way to do it.

It was after that we had booked our tickets, we found out that a friend of ours was getting married in Udaipur and she invited us for the same. It was like a jackpot for us. We had anyway booked our flight tickets, the accommodation turned out to be pretty good as well. When we reached Udaipur, we found out that we were staying at The Ananta Hotel. It seemed to be one of the best resorts in Udaipur. The rooms were fabulous, the food was to die for and the amenities and services were of top class.

On this 3 day trip, we managed to see a lot of Udaipur and attended our friend’s wedding too. The best thing was that we were staying at the hotel, which was actually our friend’s wedding venue. So that hotel turns out to be one of the best resorts in Udaipur for a wedding too.

A Lake in The City of Lakes

Transparent and extensive, Lake Pichola mirrors the dark blue surrounding mountains on its mirror-like surface. It was extended by Maharana Udai Singh II, following his establishment of the city, by innundating Picholi town. The now submerged village of Picholi gives the lake its curent name. The lake, as it stands now, is 4km long and 3km wide, yet stays shallow and vanishes completely amid serious dry seasons. The City Palace complex, including the green enclosures at its southern end, expands about 1km along the lake's eastern shore.

Boats leave generally hourly from Rameshwar Ghat, inside the City Palace complex entry to which comes at a nominal rate of Rs 30. The boats make a stop at Jagmandir Island, where you can remain for whatever length of time that you like before taking any pontoon back. Take your own particular beverages and bites, however, as those sold on the island are extortionately costly. You can likewise take 25-minute vessel rides from Lal Ghat (Rs 250 per individual) for the duration of the day without the need to enter the City Palace complex. Whatever you do, make arrangements in advance to avoid unnecessary hassles.

Lake Pichola, though not unusual in this city of lakes nevertheless stands apart from the rest in its beauty and majesty.

Many tourists prefer to stay in a resort when they come to Udaipur. I would, on the other hand, suggest you to put in Udaipur at a hotel near Pichola lake

Udaipur – The Fairy Tale Wedding Destination

Over the Christmas break, I was invited to a family friend’s wedding to Udaipur, popularly known as the City of Lakes. I was quite excited as it was my first time to the city and I definitely wanted to explore all this beautiful place had to offer. The wedding functions itself were at one of the best resorts in UdaipurThe Ananta, Udaipur. I had around 6 days in the city out of which the first day I decided to explore the hotel. I was glad that I carried my swimwear to Udaipur as it is one of the best resorts with swimming. Having said that, I went for an early morning swim followed by a leisurely breakfast with an even more charming view. Post breakfast, I took to some pampering at the in-house spa and salon and it is a decision I do not regret. I freshened up to meet my friends for brunch where we met the to be bride and groom. The event featured live music, small pop-up stalls, delicious food, refreshing cocktails and brilliant décor. In the evening was the Cocktail followed by the Sangeet and Mehndi the next day and finally the wedding and reception. As all the events were majorly post 6 in the evening I decided to explore the city in the first half of the day.

A memorable trip to the majestic city of udaipur

A memorable trip to the majestic city of udaipur
This Christmas, I embarked on a solo trip to explore Udaipur, popularly known as the City of Lakes. I had a whole four day itinerary planned out detailing out the places to visit, the shopping markets to explore, the restaurants to eat at. Prior to planning out the itinerary of the trip, I first looked at hotels in Udaipur near the railway station as that is how I planned to travel. Most of the hotels in that area were budget hotels and I was more inclined to experience the hospitality of luxury hotels in Udaipur. I ended up staying at the Trident Udaipur and the experience was indeed worth the price!

On the first day I started out with a boat ride on Lake Pichola starting at the City Palace. The ride then went on to Jagniwas Island, where the majestic Taj Lake Palace is situated. The evening ended with a heritage walk of the hotel.

In the night, I was all excited and headed to Ambrai, situated on Lake Pichola itself for an authentic Rajasthani dining experience. I reserved a lake side table and the night couldn’t have been any better with a delicious bottle of wine and a breath-taking view of the city.

The next day began with roaming the bustling streets of the city collecting trinkets, souvenirs and the famous ethnic shoes ‘jootis’. In the evening I embarked on an a adventure and booked a ride on the Mansapurna Karni Ropeway. This was truly a memorable experience, and I am glad I ended up going for it.
