Blissful Udaipur!

I am extremely grateful to my profession, Kathak artist, for making me perform all around the globe and taking me to all the beautiful places. One such place is Rajasthan. The moment I think of Rajasthan, I see a lot of colours. The state is pretty high on the vibe of culture, palaces, forts, and lakes.

One such concert tour took me to one of the prettiest cities of Rajasthan, Udaipur. I had always heard of it, but had never been to the city earlier. My dance took me to Udaipur. The whole team was of 10 people. We all were staying at the Ananta Hotel. It is a beautiful hotel. I was anyway happy to be in Udaipur. I got happier about the accommodation. It is a magnificent property. And Udaipur, anyway known as the “city of lakes”, it seems to be a great hotel in Udaipur near Lake Pichola. It makes it near one of the most touristy places in Udaipur.

I was done with the concert on the first day of my visit. I had the next day, all by myself. I did my best to explore the city in the best way possible. Lake Pichola looked even prettier at night, with all the properties well lit up, which nest on the boundaries of this huge lake. The City Palace is another beautiful thing to gorge on, which right in the banks of the lake Pichola.

On the final day, as I was leaving the hotel, I found out that the hotel takes care of wedding arrangements too. Immediately I started wishing if I could ever get married at this beautiful place, as it seemed to be a perfect wedding venue in Udaipur.

A memorable trip to the majestic city of udaipur

A memorable trip to the majestic city of udaipur
This Christmas, I embarked on a solo trip to explore Udaipur, popularly known as the City of Lakes. I had a whole four day itinerary planned out detailing out the places to visit, the shopping markets to explore, the restaurants to eat at. Prior to planning out the itinerary of the trip, I first looked at hotels in Udaipur near the railway station as that is how I planned to travel. Most of the hotels in that area were budget hotels and I was more inclined to experience the hospitality of luxury hotels in Udaipur. I ended up staying at the Trident Udaipur and the experience was indeed worth the price!

On the first day I started out with a boat ride on Lake Pichola starting at the City Palace. The ride then went on to Jagniwas Island, where the majestic Taj Lake Palace is situated. The evening ended with a heritage walk of the hotel.

In the night, I was all excited and headed to Ambrai, situated on Lake Pichola itself for an authentic Rajasthani dining experience. I reserved a lake side table and the night couldn’t have been any better with a delicious bottle of wine and a breath-taking view of the city.

The next day began with roaming the bustling streets of the city collecting trinkets, souvenirs and the famous ethnic shoes ‘jootis’. In the evening I embarked on an a adventure and booked a ride on the Mansapurna Karni Ropeway. This was truly a memorable experience, and I am glad I ended up going for it.
